Zinc plating<\/a>, also known as zinc electroplating, is a surface treatment method which essentially deposits a thin layer of zinc onto a metal (substrate) object. This process is usually carried out through electrochemical deposition, where the substrate object is submerged in a solution containing zinc ions. An electric current is then applied to bond the zinc ions to the metal substrate which results in the formation of a protective zinc coating finish.
