The Dorsetware Process

metal platingWhatever we are commissioned to do: metal polishing, metal plating, or metal finishing, at Dorsetware we make sure that our work process is thorough on all levels. As the leading electroplaters in Dorset we have refined our process over the years to be the most efficient and informative so that you – the customer – can have a fast turnaround on your items.

Our process is broken down in to 5 steps:

  1. The Write-Up

The first thing that we do with every new job is write it up. We note what needs to be done on the file in detail and any specific requests. This is to create a good starting place and reference point for the job.

  1. Order the Job

Every single job has different requirements. Perhaps a customer has dropped off some handles that need polishing and then plating. These need to be ordered appropriately which is the next step. This is to ensure that items remain together at all steps of our process.

  1. Photograph the Items

To reduce any losses or mix-ups we take photographs of all the items that come into our workshop prior to any work undertaken on them. This part of the process also makes the transitions from process to process much quicker – we can make sure that the right items are being treated.

  1. Tick off the Jobs

From stripping to metal polishing to electroplating, we tick off every single stage to make sure that we haven’t missed a thing. All of the items within a job are moved forward at the same time to make sure we don’t miss a thing.

  1. Pack it

After all the activity that your items have gone through, they still need to get back to you. Our dedicated packer makes sure that they leave together – all in a day’s work.
