Quick Reference Guide
Discover this easy reference guide for use with our metal coating services, from zinc coating, chromate conversion coating, nickel coating and more.
Metal Finishing for Corrosion Resistance
- Alkaline Zinc Nickel (excellent, even after thermal shock)
- Anodising (creates oxidic layer)
- Bright Acid Tin (withstands high heat and has non-toxic properties)
- Bright Nickel Plating (good corrosion and decorative finish
- Chrome (decorative finish)
- Cold Chemical Blackening (applying oil increases corrosion protection, but only offers very mild protection)
- Electroless Nickel (combines hardness and wear resistance both as plated and as heat-treated)
- Hard Anodising (extreme hardness and resistance to abrasion as well as corrosion
- Stainless Steel Passivation (prevents free iron contamination and rusting)
- Zinc (provides a greater degree of protection for metals such as mild steel)
Metal Finishing for Lower Friction
- Chrome (low friction co-efficiency)
- Cold Chemical Blackening (provides non reflective surface)
- Hard Anodising (high degree of lubricity)
- Manganese Phosphate (acts as a dry lubricant)
